Fearless, bold, and determined, Charlie is the first Malaysian refugee to be nominated for an Oscar. From a child actress taking a cameo role to getting a leading role in Hollywood films, Charlie continues to find opportunities to use her platform to speak up about refugee rights and creatively find ways to help improve their lives. She hopes to one day produce a film highlighting the plight of refugees to raise more awareness of how they are treated.

Charlie is an avid stamp collector. Her favourites come from South Africa and Indonesia.
